About this notice
A practical policy for this website
This page explains how Softcity Group handles personal information submitted through this website and sets the rules for using the site. It applies to online activity on softcitygroup.com. A separate written agreement may apply when Softcity provides services to a client or enters another commercial relationship.
01
Privacy Policy
Softcity Group is responsible for the personal information it collects through this website. We process personal data fairly, lawfully and only for defined purposes connected with responding to enquiries, reviewing applications, operating the website and meeting legal or security obligations.
02
Information we collect
We may collect information that you choose to provide through:
- the Contact form, including your name, email address, optional telephone number and organisation, area of interest and message;
- the Acceler8 form, including applicant and project details, project stage, links and the support requested;
- the Portfolio request form, including your name and email address;
- direct email, telephone or other correspondence with us.
Our hosting and security systems may also process limited technical data, such as an IP address, request time, requested page, browser or device information and server events. The form service temporarily uses source-address information to limit abuse and duplicate submissions. Please do not submit passwords, financial account data, identity documents or other sensitive information through these website forms.
03
How and why we use information
We use information where necessary to:
- review and respond to an enquiry or request;
- assess an Acceler8 application;
- provide a requested portfolio or discuss potential services;
- secure, troubleshoot and improve the website;
- prevent spam, misuse, fraud or unlawful activity;
- comply with law and establish or defend legal rights.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request, support Softcity’s legitimate operational and security interests, comply with a legal obligation, or rely on your consent where the law requires it. Submitting an enquiry does not add you to a marketing list.
04
Sharing, service providers and transfers
We do not sell personal information. Information may be accessible to authorised Softcity personnel and to providers needed to host the website, maintain security and deliver form notifications through the configured email service. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or to professional advisers acting under appropriate duties.
A technology provider may process information in another country. In that event, Softcity will use the safeguards required for the relevant transfer and will limit the provider to the service it is engaged to perform.
05
Retention and security
We retain website submissions only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, evaluate the request, maintain an appropriate business record, resolve a dispute or meet legal obligations. Retention may differ according to the nature of the enquiry and any resulting relationship. Temporary anti-abuse records are short-lived and are not intended as customer profiles.
We use proportionate organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe information sent through this website has been compromised, contact us promptly.
06
Your privacy rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable exceptions, you may have rights to be informed, access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure or restriction, object to processing, receive portable data and avoid solely automated decisions. This website does not make solely automated decisions about Contact, Acceler8 or Portfolio submissions.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant record. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission .
07
Cookies, media and external services
Softcity offers optional website analytics only after you choose to allow it. This may include Google Analytics 4 and Softcity’s limited first-party analytics, which record anonymous session activity, page and service interest, selected calls to action, media activation and confirmed form-conversion types. Analytics records do not contain the name, email address, telephone number or message entered in a form. You may decline analytics or change your choice through Analytics Preferences in the footer.
A random, short-lived browser session identifier and first-touch UTM campaign values may be used for consented attribution. First-party analytics records are retained for up to 12 months. Essential hosting or security technology may still be used where necessary to deliver and protect the site. Video pages use a click-to-load, privacy-enhanced YouTube player: no player is requested until you choose a video. Once loaded, YouTube’s own terms and privacy practices apply.
Links to social networks, publications and other websites take you to services that Softcity does not control. Review their notices before providing them with personal information.
08
Children
This corporate website is not designed to collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the site without appropriate authority, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
Terms of Use
Using the Softcity website
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. These terms govern website use only; any project, service, licence, investment or other engagement requires its own applicable written terms.
Information and enquiries
Website material is general information and may change. A form submission is a request for review, not an acceptance, quotation, contract or promise of service. Acceler8 applications are assessed individually and do not guarantee acceptance, funding or any other support.
Acceptable use
You must not use the website to:
- make an unlawful, fraudulent or misleading request;
- transmit malware, harmful code or unsolicited bulk messages;
- bypass security, rate limits or access controls;
- probe or disrupt the website or another visitor’s use;
- submit another person’s information without authority;
- copy or exploit website content in violation of applicable law.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Softcity owns or is authorised to use the website design, copy, branding and other original material. You may view the site and retain reasonable extracts for personal or internal evaluation. No licence to use Softcity trade marks, client marks, project images or other protected material is granted.
Third-party content and links
External links and embedded services are provided for context or convenience. Softcity does not control their availability, security, content or privacy practices and does not endorse every statement on a linked service.
Availability, warranties and liability
We aim to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but do not promise uninterrupted access or that every item will always be complete, current or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Softcity excludes implied warranties relating solely to use of this informational website and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute is subject to applicable Nigerian law and the jurisdiction of the competent Nigerian courts, without limiting any mandatory right available to a consumer.
